Setting the Scene

We’re here to normalize talking about feelings and emotions and give them their rightful place in the spotlight.

We believe that emotions are imperative to our lives. They guide us in making decisions and connecting with others. But sometimes, we feel like we have to hide or change our emotions because of what people might think or expect. This is called emotional labour. It is the effort we put into managing or “filtering” our emotions according to the situation. Arlie Hochschild, a sociologist, coined the idea of emotional labor all the way back in 1983. While the concept definition has evolved in recent years, emotional labor is still very present in our everyday life.

Emotional labour can be stressful and exhausting. It can make us feel like we are not being ourselves or that our emotions are not valid. For example, the expectation to conform to a “professional” demeanor, affects as many as 44% of UK women who don’t feel they can openly share concerns with their managers (according to a UK study commissioned by Culture Amp). This concept affects everyone - 38% of men have avoided talking to others about their feelings to avoid appearing “unmanly".

We want to challenge this culture of filtering of emotions, and embrace the natural reactions we all have. We want to normalize talking about our feelings, and celebrate them as a source of strength and wisdom.

Living Life on the Outer

We want to live in a world where emotions are not a weakness, but a strength. Where the power of feeling is celebrated and empathetic natures are embraced. We want to live life on the Outer - coming out of our emotional shells, breaking free and wearing our emotions with pride and self-assurance.

We know how hard it can be to fight our feelings in order to “fit in”. We know how much it hurts and how confusing it can be to try to suppress or deny our emotions. We have been there, and we have learned that emotions have a purpose, that they are not something to be afraid of or ashamed of but to wear with pride. And now, we are on a mission to share this message with the world.

Our business challenges conformity and celebrates individuality. We resist the homogenizing forces of our society, because we believe that the world is a more vibrant and colorful place when we allow ourselves to feel deeply and authentically.

A World Painted in a Kaleidoscope of Emotions

So, why do we do what we do? It's simple:

We want you to feel more, openly.

We want you to embrace your emotions, to wear them proudly like a badge of honor. Whether you're feeling joy, sadness, excitement, or even a touch of cosmic melancholy, we've got you.

But our mission goes way beyond just selling products. We want to create a community of like-minded souls who understand the power of emotional expression. A place where you can be your authentic self, free from judgment and societal expectations.

As Hanne, our fearless founder, once said, "It is so, so brave to be soft in this hard world." And we couldn't agree more. So, join us on this epic journey of self-discovery and emotional liberation.

Let's make the world a more colorful place, one feeling at a time.

Remember, dear Outer Earthlings, your emotions are your superpower. Embrace them, express them, and let them guide you on your path to authenticity.

Together, we can create a universe where emotions reign supreme and individuality is celebrated.
